Hereditary hair loss

There are solutions!

Hereditary hair loss is the most common hair deficiency in men.

The cause of this abnormal hair loss is known: it is linked to the hyperactivity of an enzyme, 5 alpha reductase.

There are actually two forms of male hormones: testosterone and Di Hydro Testosterone (DHT). It is 5 alpha reductase that transforms testosterone into dihydrotestosterone DHT. These two hormonal forms are carried in the blood and bind to a protein, HSBG, before migrating to target organs in the body (hair follicle, prostate, brain, etc.). Hormone receptors, present on these target organs, will react differently depending on the levels of testosterone and DHT to which they are subjected and modify essential data such as the duration of hair cycles or the secretion of sebaceous glands.

Thus, too high a level of 5 alpha reductase will result in a shortening of the anagen phase (growth phase) of the hair and the miniaturization of the hair in the growth phase. As we saw above, the number of hair cycles is limited: between 25 and 30 cycles for a lifetime. The duration of each cycle will decrease considerably and go from a few years to a few months. The hair cycles, which were supposed to last a lifetime, will run out much more quickly, which will first lead to a thinning of the hair, then to its gradual total disappearance over large areas of the scalp.

Depending on the individual, the hormone receptors in hair follicles located on certain parts of the scalp will not be sensitive to this hyperactivity of 5 alpha reductase: this is the case, for example, of hair located on the nape of the neck and on the temples, which explains why even the most bald people almost always keep a crown of hair. It is interesting to note that it is the hair follicles themselves, and not the areas in which they grow, that remain vibrant for life, and this explains why they are the ones chosen to be harvested and re-implanted on bald areas during a hair transplant session. Regardless of where they are implanted, they will continue to benefit from normal life cycles.

Once the life cycles of a hair follicle are exhausted, there is nothing more to do and this is the reason why no miracle product will ever make hair grow on a bald head. If you are lucky enough not to have yet exhausted all of your hair cycles and you notice the beginning of abnormal hair loss, it is therefore essential to react very quickly by using solutions such as our Hairskin tablet which regulates 5 alpha reductase and reduces the consequences of its hyperactivity. At the same time, it can be useful to strengthen hair in the growth phase which has been miniaturized and weakened with a dietary supplement such as the hair life food manufactured by Norgil. In some cases, we can also act on 5 alpha reductase topically with our Hairskin serum.

However, if your baldness has already reached a very advanced stage, know that techniques such as hair integration or Contact volume for women can allow you to regain some hair.
